Don't know how I forgot about that: he arrived here at DC with a very good reputation because he initially seemed to turn things around at Derby, so everyone thought he was a great manager encumbered by a bad business situation...everyone except Derby fans, who were much more doubtful having watched the team fall apart later in his tenure.
Wasn’t Wayne Rooney at Derby County before coming? I seem to recall he did well in a tough situation there. I think your point still stands though
